Stamps for card making

Rubber stamping has always been popular in the craft industry. Recently there have been many innovations in crafts and in particular stamps for card making and scrapbooking.

As well as traditional rubber stamps mounted on wooden blocks, recently there has been the advent of acrylic stamps and rocker blocks. Crafters can also choose between mounted and un-mounted stamps and choose the kind of mounting blocks they prefer.

When using rubber stamps it is important to remember that larger stamps require more ink and more pressure than smaller ones, especially around the middle and the edges. Try to apply even pressure. Always use a flat and even surface, and check the stamp for possible damage before use.

To get the most leverage, stamp standing up. Take the ink pad to the stamp and not the other way round. Small stamps with thinner designer require less ink and pressure. Stamps can work particularly well with their image contained within a small border. Consider the use of peel offs to decorate the border edge of your stamped design.
